Privacy
BLIND keeps as little about you as it can: your email address, if you give it to us, and a record of whether you came from one of our ads, if you allow it.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you join the list on blindmusic.app. With it we keep the time you signed up and the address of the page you signed up from.
- Visit statistics without cookies. Our host, Cloudflare, counts page views for us in aggregate (Cloudflare Web Analytics). It sets no cookies and does not build a profile of you.
Cookies and the Meta pixel
We advertise BLIND on Facebook and Instagram. To learn which ads bring people to the site and sign them
up, the home page can load the Meta pixel, a small script from Meta Platforms. When it
runs, it sets a cookie in your browser (_fbp, and _fbc if you arrived from an
ad, kept for up to 90 days) and tells Meta that you visited the page and, if you join the list, that a
sign-up happened. It does not send Meta your email address. Meta may use this to measure and improve our
ads and, under its own policy, to show you ads; Meta and BLIND are joint controllers for that collection.
See Meta’s privacy policy and your
ad preferences.
In the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the pixel loads only after you choose “Allow” in the panel at the foot of the page. Elsewhere it loads unless your browser sends Global Privacy Control or you turn it off. Either way you can change your answer at any time with “Cookie settings” at the foot of the home page. Your choice is kept in your browser only.
Apart from that cookie, the site keeps your scroll position for the tab you have open (session storage) so a reloaded page opens where you left it; it never leaves your device.
What we use it for
We use your email address for one thing: a single email when submissions for Round 01 open. No newsletter, no other mail. We do not sell it, rent it or share it with anyone for their marketing. The Meta pixel, where you allow it, is used to measure our own ads, as described above.
Where it is kept
Sign-ups are stored in a Google Sheet that only BLIND can open, and BLIND is told of each new sign-up by email through Google. The site is served by Cloudflare. Both act as our service providers and may process data outside your country. Data from the Meta pixel goes to Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd (in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland) or Meta Platforms, Inc. (elsewhere).
How long we keep it
Until you ask us to remove it, or BLIND closes the list, whichever comes first.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or to stop emailing you. Write to hello@blindmusic.app from the address you signed up with and we will do it. Where the law gives you further rights, such as the right to complain to your data protection authority, you keep them.
The contest
This notice covers the sign-up list. Entering a track will collect more, such as payment details and the details needed to pay winners. The full competition rules, and an updated notice covering entries, will be published before Round 01.
Changes
If this notice changes, the new version is published here with a new date.
